OWASP, an acronym that stands for The Open Web Application Security Project, is an international organization that brings together professionals from the world of computer security in order to raise awareness about how the lack of protection affects both to companies and individuals.
The event was organized by the chapter leaders of OWASP Canarias: Sergiu Mesesan, Daniel Fernández and Efrén DÃaz, who are also behind Open Data Security.

"From the DVR, to the kitchen" It was the first presentation and was directed by Daniel Fernández and Efrén DÃaz. In it they demonstrated in a practical way how, through the gap found in the software of a camera installed in a business, they could enter its system and access critical company information.

The second presentation, "#havehappiness", starred Deepak Daswani, who based his presentation on a series of stories about service vulnerabilities, for example: how he hacked the Wi-Fi of a cafeteria or the Club Deportivo Tenerife website.
"Wireless ignorance" It was the third presentation directed by Sergiu Mesesan. In it he explained to his audience how misconfiguration of a Wi-Fi network could endanger the security of the network owners. In addition, he gave a series of tips that increase the security of our routers when configuring them.
We finish with Sergiu Popa, a luxury for the OWASP Canary Islands talks with @coitic in the @etsiiull. Thanks for coming. pic.twitter.com/3t1f2CjVFz

Finally, the event closed with a talk by Sergiu Popa, "Up and⦠pwning", which was about how to compromise the security of servers. Once again, computer security has taken center stage in the Canary Islands, and given that this first meeting of OWASP Canarias has been a complete success, It won't be long before we have a second date. with computer security.
When it comes to #cybersecurity we get serious. Thank you to everyone who attended the event yesterday #owaspcanarias! pic.twitter.com/2G6CCbK2oT
