Cybersecurity is an issue that concerns us all. This is something that we see every time it is talked about in a space where professionals from the world of technology meet, as has been the case with TLP Innova 2017.
Cybersecurity is an issue that concerns us all. This is something that we see every time it is talked about in a space where professionals from the world of technology meet, as has been the case with TLP Innova 2017.
This week, Open Data Security gave a talk on cybersecurity under the name "Once upon a time there was a hack that could have been avoided" in it Adán MartÃn Auditorium in Tenerife.

Marcos Fernandez, CPO of Open Data Security, was explaining the most common types of attacks. Some family members like ransomware and DdoS attacks. We were also able to learn how some cyber attacks occurred on public and private institutions: HazteOir, the Mossos D'Esquadra Union or the most recent, iDental.
All the cases that were presented during the talk could have been prevented through mechanisms such as white box analysis, in which you have access to all the credentials of the organization being audited and black box analysis, in which analysts investigate security breaches without any type of facility from the entity that hires them.

Another solution that was discussed and that tends to be popular among companies is the installation of an authentication proxy. VPNs are the most popular toolsHowever, a solution that does not sacrifice Internet speed, is easy to configure, and is scalable is WolfRay.
The talk culminated with an interesting round of questions in which reference was made to full themes current events such as the latest ransomware that shook the world and issues were discussed about how we should protect ourselves, both individuals and companies.
From here we want to thank all those who attended, both in the room and via streaming, and to the TLP Innova organization for giving us the space to bring cybersecurity to more people.
